At Adopt A Boxer Scotland we have a keen interest in dog welfare and behaviour and strive to continually expand our knowledge of the latest developments in canine science and research.
One of our primary aims is to education and support owners as we believe this is vital in building and maintaining a happy relationship between dogs and owners.
In 2014, we organised an evening talk called ‘Kindness Works‘ by Elaine Henley from the Animal Behaviour Clinic and Take the Lead Dog School. The talk was about positive reinforcement training and how it helps builds strong relationships between dogs and owners. It was a fantastic success with over 30 people attending including dog walkers, owners and rescue volunteers.
We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting a seminar called ‘Dogs that Bite and Fight’ with David Ryan in Glasgow on 19th March 2016. Location to be confirmed. David had 26 years of experience as a police dog handler before obtaining Southampton University’s postgraduate diploma in companion animal behaviour counselling. You can find out more about David on his website.
